So I have been training just not updating.
Last week was my recovery week but slowly took over this week as well. Sunday was my husband's birthday and before his parents arrived I headed OUTSIDE for my long recovery week run. I ran 10k in 64min. I was really hoping for 60min but there was 1km in there where I was sure I saw an ant jog past me. Whatever, I blasted past that sucker after I gave myself some internal tough love.
I was happy with my run and felt really good. That feeling quickly past and was replaced with the worst feeling I have had in years. YEARS! Fatigue set in. Sore throat. Body aches. Within 6 hours of my run, I was knocked on my ass, HARD. My throat got worse to the point I couldn't swallow. I mustered the strength to get a diagnosis. Tonsillitis. And my four year got it too. Luckily my other two children are symptom free, along with my husband. Today I started coming around and was blessed with the help of my mother in law. I even had a 2 hour nap.
In the midst of my tonsillitis, I lost (not misplaced) someone VERY dear to me. Needless to say between tears and sore throats, my bikeshoesuit have sat unused.
So recovery week has stretched to recovery stint. My body and mind miss the exercise. They crave it. I think I may ride the trainer tomorrow or go for a swim. I need to do something other than feel sick or sad. Need something to think about other than the hard goodbye I am not ready to make on Saturday.
